In this video, I shall try to show, how to get rid of 1) Weird mp3 file names 2) Weird mp3 tags and album art 3) Varying loudness of mp3 Many of us like to listen to music whether it’s in the car on the way to work, walking down the street or at home to relax. As we know, there is a multitude of different ways to get your music files onto your phone or MP3 player and there are also several different sources online from P2P networks, to download services like iTunes, searching for MP3s in Google, Myspace or Amazon etc, to scouring the web for royalty free downloadable music. Problems you will have most likely come across if you have music from several different sources is that they don’t all have the exact same volume level, have weird tag names, weird album art . Some individual tracks or whole albums will have been encoded by a different person or company using different methods and might be significantly louder or quieter than others. It’s quite frustrating turning the volume level right up to listen to a quiet track, and then the next song has a much higher default volume level and gets played way too loud. 1) Weird mp3 file names Most mp3 files we download have weird file names it includes symbols like ~, #, $, %20 etc. Manually removing these symbols from file name is boring work, so I have shown how a small open source program can eliminates those symbols from file names in bulk rather than going from file to file manually and renaming. We also change format of mp3 file names, like sentence style, upper case style and lower case style... 2) Weird mp3 tags and album art While playing mp3 in mobile, laptop or desktop player shows weird system characters, shows mp3 title having numbers, mixed style. Other problem we face is mp3 player’s shows weird album art icon instead of the standard mp3 icon, this problem appear when browsing through the mp3 collection on hard disk also? So here I shall try to show how we can edit mp3 tags in bulk and remove weird album icon using very light weight open source program. 3) Varying loudness of mp3 If you listen to MP3 files on your computer, iPod, or MP3/media player then there's a good chance that you've had to adjust the volume between tracks because of varying loudness. If a track is too loud then 'clipping' can occur (due to overload) which distorts the sound. If a track is too quiet, you'll normally need to increase the volume audio detail can also be lost. While traveling when we sleep with headphone and music on, then suddenly some song play very loudly and disturb our sleep. So here I shall try to normalize mp3 songs using open source program MP3Gain, MP3Gain does not just do peak normalization, as many normalizers do. Instead, it does some statistical analysis to determine how loud the file actually sounds to the human ear. Also, the changes MP3Gain makes are completely lossless. There is no quality lost in the change because the program adjusts the mp3 file directly, without decoding and re-encoding.
